California Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS) is a collaboration of state and local government agencies, tasked with creating the California Automated Response and Engagement System (CARES), a new child welfare information system.

As an on-site consultant, I lead multiple research and design initiatives structured by human-centered research and design principles, as well as agile software development methodologies.

To date, specific projects include design of an enterprise-wide design system and UI toolkit, task-analysis and experience mapping for social workers, supervisors, and foster youth across the state, as well as research and design customizable dashboard experiences. I worked with a variety of users and subject matter experts, including social workers, licensing professionals, law enforcement officials, and policy experts.

Please reach out for more information regarding process or detailed artifacts of research and design.
